Protective Property Trusts (PPT)
Careful planning is required if you wish your beneficiaries to inherit what you feel is rightfully theirs.
This type of Trust will only be effective where the property is owned by one or more individual as Tenants in Common.
A Protective Property Trust (PPT) is designed to provide a right of occupation for the survivor and income whilst protecting the capital for your chosen beneficiaries.
A PPT will:
- Provide you with peace of mind that your chosen beneficiaries will inherit your share of the property.
- Protect from sideways disinheritance.
- Protect the assets from third party creditors for means testing.
- Provide flexibility for the survivor by allowing them to purchase a new property and attach the protection of the trust to that property.
